The Wiltshire Raptor Hide
Set in the beautiful hilly countryside just outside Swindon this hide has proved very successful over the years and is now very well established. It is not uncommon for photographers spending the day in here to achieve images in flight, bathing, feeding, perched and some fierce interactions all well achievable during a single session. The hide sees both buzzard and red kite coming down and also in good numbers often totalling double figures. The hide area has 2 two man hides in place side by side so you will only ever be directly sharing with one other photographer. We are using special glass imported from Spain to shoot through on this hide rather than our usual portal system. This means the birds are completely oblivious to your presence making for much more natural behaviour from these timid birds.
This hide runs during the coldest winter months starting in October and finishing in March.
